EES CORPORATION

SCADA systems for industrial plants in Honduras and Central America

We design and implement SCADA systems that give your plant a single, real-time view of processes, machines, alarms and historical data. Many plants run with isolated screens on each machine, paper logs and PLCs from different brands that don't talk to each other. Problems surface late, and decisions get made without data.

At EES Corporation, we are SCADA integrators. We survey your signals, design the architecture, and develop screens, alarms and historical data on platforms such as Ignition and atvise. We also migrate existing SCADA systems while protecting your data and your operation. We work from San Pedro Sula. We have delivered projects in Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador and the United States, and we serve the rest of Central America and the Caribbean. That includes Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama and Belize.

Problems we solve

  • Supervisors who can't tell the status of the plant without walking to every machine or panel.
  • Alarms that nobody logs or responds to in time, and downtime explained from memory in the production meeting.
  • Critical quality variables, such as dryer and oven temperatures, levels or pressures, with no historical data for audits or traceability.
  • Old SCADA systems, unsupported or on obsolete versions, that nobody dares to modify.

What the service includes

  • Survey of existing signals, PLCs and networks, and architecture design: servers, clients and communications.
  • Operator screens by area and dashboards for supervisors and management, with browser or mobile access when the project requires it.
  • Alarm configuration with priorities, event logging and acknowledgment by user.
  • Historical data and reports for process and production: temperatures, consumption, counters, OEE and telemetry.
  • Integration with databases and, when the project requires it, with MES or business management systems.
  • Migration of existing SCADA systems: inventory of tags, screens and alarms, conversion, testing and commissioning.
  • System documentation, backups and post-delivery support.

From a plant signal to an operational decision

We connect equipment and PLCs, structure tags and histories, and build alarms, trends, reports and role-based dashboards. The result can scale from one machine to multiple sites and connect operations with business systems.

Technologies we integrate

  • Ignition (Inductive Automation): SCADA and IIoT platform with web and mobile clients, historical data in SQL databases and connectivity to PLCs from multiple brands.
  • atvise: SCADA built on web technology and OPC UA. It lets operators work from a browser without installing clients.
  • Connectivity to Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric and other PLCs through native drivers, OPC UA or Modbus TCP. See also industrial automation.

Applications by industry

  • Agribusiness and coffee processing mills: monitoring of dryer and oven temperatures with traceability.
  • Food and beverage: monitoring of process lines and migration of legacy SCADA systems.
  • Textile and apparel (maquila): production and downtime dashboards connected to the OEE system.
  • Cement and construction: monitoring of tanks, levels and process equipment.
  • Plant utilities: energy, compressed air and water integrated with industrial IoT.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a SCADA system and an industrial IoT platform?

A SCADA system monitors the process in real time and, when needed, controls it. It connects to the plant's PLCs, displays operator screens, manages alarms and stores historical data. An industrial IoT platform focuses on collecting data from sensors and equipment, even at remote sites. You can then monitor and analyze that data from anywhere. In many plants, the two complement each other.

Can you migrate an existing SCADA system without losing data?

Yes. First, we inventory the tags, screens, alarms, scripts and historical data of the current system. Then we define what migrates as is and what is worth redesigning. Commissioning is planned in stages, with testing and, when possible, parallel operation to reduce the risk of downtime.

Can the SCADA system read PLCs from different brands?

Yes. Platforms such as Ignition and atvise communicate with Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric and other PLCs through native drivers, OPC UA or Modbus TCP. During the survey, we check each device's model, firmware and network to choose the most stable connection method.

How is a SCADA system licensed and priced?

It depends on the platform and the scope. Some platforms, such as Ignition, are licensed per server and by module. Others are licensed by the number of tags or operator stations. We quote after a survey that defines the number of signals, PLCs and screens, plus historical data, users, and web or mobile access.

Do you work outside Honduras?

Yes. We work from San Pedro Sula. We have delivered projects in Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador and the United States, and we serve the rest of Central America and the Caribbean.
